Elizabet Kennedy is a Senior Business Analyst at Nicor Gas, where she supports the analysis and evaluation of innovative energy efficiency initiatives, including the Nicor Gas Smart Neighborhoods™ project. This first-of-its-kind collaboration between Nicor Gas and Habitat for Humanity is designed to demonstrate how advanced building techniques and smart technologies can work together in a dual fuel home to create affordable, resilient, and energy-efficient homes.
Elizabet plays an integral role in the Smart Neighborhoods initiative, contributing during the planning stages and leading the project’s research phase to help inform future energy efficiency strategies. The Smart Neighborhood homes feature high-efficiency building envelopes, dual-fuel heating, ventilation, and cooling systems, and energy backup technologies that help keep energy costs affordable while improving reliability during extreme weather events. Through this work, Elizabet supports the translation of research findings into insights that can be applied more broadly across the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Portfolio.
